Youtube Video over menu bar

#1

Hi there,

If I scroll down, my embedded YouTube video will display over the menu bar, instead of being hidden by the menu bar. How can I fix it?

Thanx!

Hi,

For me that doesn’t happen in Chrome, please let me know in what browser happened for you.

Also you can try this Custom CSS:

.top-bar {
    z-index: 999999 !important;
}

Add the above CSS to your Child Theme’s style.css or in case you haven’t setup a Child Theme already, then you can also use this plugin to add the CSS to it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ so you will not loose the changes on theme updates.

Best Regards,
Csaba

Hi Csaba

Thanks. Indeed, the problem exists with Internet Explorer 11 only.

I understand your point and have followed all your recommendations, but to no avail, unfortunately.

Anything else I could try?

Many thanks,
Tom

Hi,

Please try this Custom CSS too and let me know how it works:

.fluid-width-video-wrapper {
    z-index: 1;
}

Hi,

Unfortunately, this does not work either.

Do I have to put the video into a specific container?

Thanks.

Best regards,

Tom

Hi,

I have found a solution myself. You have to add “?wmode=transparent” to your youtube-code, like shown in the following example (ZZZZZZZ stands for the real code which I have replaced in order to avoid any distractions from the important part):

<iframe src=“https://www.youtube.com/embed/ZZZZZZZ?wmode=transparent” width=“356” height=“200” frameborder=“0” allowfullscreen=“allowfullscreen”></iframe>

Take care!
Tom
