WP Super Cache Plugin Problem

My site www.pixelbox.in was working fine until I installed “Wp Super Cache” plugin. The site became faster. But on flip side it created new problems.
The site disappeared from Google. Removing the plugin was really tough but managed to. I was resubmitted the Sitemap file to Google but it’s giving this error “Your Sitemap appears to be an HTML page. Please use a supported sitemap format instead.” While deleting “Wp Super Cache” plugin only one folder could not be deleted. It’s the “Catche” folder inside “WP-Content” folder.
Through FTP I tried to delete but it’s saying it’s not permitted. Right now
Chmod is 755 but to delete I tried to convert to 777 but it’s not accepting.
If I am not wrong the HTML residing inside this folder is causing errors.
Can you please advise me how to change CHMOD to 777 or delete just the html files that got generated through “Wp Super Cache”. ?

If I am checking the source code of each page, on top it’s mentioning as the page is “HTML”. Isn’t it supposed to be PHP ? Sorry I don’t have knowledge of web programming.

A hint to the inserted static html pages could be found here

Hello there,

I would like to apologize in advance for the delayed respond.

I’m afraid that such this issue doesn’t relate to the theme. As it is beyond the support service we can provide, I’d strongly recommend you to seek for an assistance at the plugin’s support forum. Please navigate here https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wordpress-seo

I understand and not a problem. But just once can you please check why the site is getting rerouted to HTML pages ? Is there any small script that I can enter in Custom CSS plugin to reroute to index.php file ?

It happens because the WP Super Cache plugin does so. Please read its description https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-super-cache/

> Is there any small script that I can enter in Custom CSS plugin to reroute to index.php file ?

I’m afraid Custom CSS won’t work for that.

Thanks for the reply Kharis. Is the site getting rerouted to HTML pages still as I have deleted all the files of “WP Super Cache”. If you are sure then please let me know. I will ask them.

I am sure it is no longer routed to a static HTML.

Thanks Kharis…Some hint of the problems here at http://www.computerworld.com/article/2907533/over-1-million-wordpress-sites-may-be-affected-by-a-flaw-in-wp-super-cache-plugin.html

Hope they have fixed for good. But still risks are involved. Just sharing this info if any new user like me gets affected. Infact “WP Super Cache” never replied. It’s Yoast guys who guided me to clear the files. Thanks for your responsiveness as well.s
