Why does my Projects page title say "Archives: Projects"

I want it to read “Projects” on my projects page… not “Archives: Projects”.

Is there anyway to change the title to a custom name, e.g. “Latest Projects”?

Thx

Hello Karl,

Please try to do the following.

  1. Go to your public_html/wp-content/themes/talon folder (you can access it via cPanel or SFTP), copy archive.php file and rename it to archive-projects.php.

  2. Open archive-projects.php file with a text editor, find the following code:

<header class="page-header">
	<?php
		the_archive_title( '<h1 class="page-title">', '</h1>' );
		the_archive_description( '<div class="archive-description">', '</div>' );
	?>
</header><!-- .page-header -->

…replace it with this code:

<header class="page-header">
	<h1 class="page-title">Latest Projects</h1>
	<?php
		the_archive_description( '<div class="archive-description">', '</div>' );
	?>
</header><!-- .page-header -->

…and save the file.

Please note that you have to override modified PHP files in a child theme in order to avoid losing modifications after theme update.

Please feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

Kind Regards, Roman.
