White text in search box

#1

Hi,

when I open the search box and type in something, it doesn’t show up. I assume because it’s white text (because it does return the correct results). I don’t see where to change the color of that anywhere.

Also, upon returning of results, it shows a very light grey text which is hard to read. Any suggestions?

Thank you very much!

Hello there,

Thank you for reporting.

To change the search box text, could you please try to add the following CSS code the Simple Custom CSS box?

input[type="search"]{
  color: #000;
}

To change the search result text, add the folliwng.

.search .page-content{
  color: #000;
}

I hope this reply helps.

Warmest regards,
Kharis

Thank you very much for that. The text within the search box is now black but the results return the same light grey color. Is it maybe being overwritten somewhere else within the appearance section? I went through there but don’t see that color being used.

Hello there,

Could you please try to add !important?

.search .page-content{
  color: #000 !important;
}

Let me know how it goes. I’ll wait to hear back from you regarding your stats.

Thank you for your fast reply! But unfortunately that didn’t work. Still the same grey.
