White-on-white email input field in Jetpack Subscription Widget

Hi,
We have the email subscription widget (from Jetpack) in our sidebar and footer B areas. The problem is that both the email address input field color and the text color are both white, so anything typed there is pretty much invisible. I’ve searched this and the other forums (and asked Jetpack support) but can’t figure out what to add to the Edit CSS field to make the text color black (or, at least, not white) in the sidebar and footer Subscription widgets.
