Unable to edit my pages content!

Hello aThemes team and happy new year!

I built my wordpress site using Sydney theme around one year ago: http://ho-creative.com

Lately I wanted to update some text and add some pictures to the site.

I went (as usual) to the Wordpress dashboard, clicked on “pages” and I realised that my pages were no more editable.
So I did some research and found out that some plugins may cause such problem.
After many trials, I found out that when I disable one plugin (TINYMCE and TINYMCE ADVANCED Pro Formats and Styles 1.1.2), my pages seemed to be editable again.
But it’s only an “illusion”: when I type in a new text, it doesn’t appear in the page after I save and publish, even when I flush out the cache. Another thing: The editing interface doesn’t include the draggable rows and columns as it used to…

I tried an all-around update: Theme+WP+Plugins, but my website looked so messy, that I restored back my older/stable version.

I’m currently running WordPress V4.6.1, and Sydney Theme V1.20.

Here’s the full list of plugins I use for the website:
01 - AKISMET
02 - ANIMATE
03 - BLACKSTUDIO TINYMCE 2.2.8
04 - CLEAN AND SIMPLE CONTACT FORM
05 - CONTACT FORM 7
06 - CONTACT FORM DB
07 - DROP SHADOW BOXES
08 - DUPLICATE POSTS
09 - GOOGLE ANALYTICATOR
10 - HELLO DOLLY
11 - LIGHTBOX PLUS COLORBOX
12 - MASTER SLIDER PRO
13 - NEXTGEN GALLERY
14 - OPTIN FORMS
15 - PAGEBUILDER By SiteOrigin 2.2.2
16 - POLYLANG
17 - RECENT POSTS WIDGET
18 - SITEORIGIN WIDGET BUNDLE 1.5.4
19 - SUMOME
20 - TINYMCE and TINYMCE ADVANCED Pro Formats and Styles 1.1.2
21 - TJ CUSTOM CSS 0.1.5
22 - TOOLSET TYPES 1.8.11
23 - UPDRAFT PLUS 1.11.20
24 - W3 TOTAL CACHE 0.9.4.1
25 - WORDPRESS IMPORTER
26 - YOAST SEO
27 - YOUTUBE

Do you have a solution please to make my pages content editable as before?

Thanks a lot and best regards!

Hi,

Please try to deactivate all your third-party plugins ( the ones that wasn’t recommended by the theme as notification after you have installed the theme ) then check how it works.

Best Regards,
Csaba

Hi Csaba:

Thanks for the quick answer!

It turned out that by deactivating everything and keeping ONLY the following plugins, I was able to edit my pages again, the usual way, and with saved changes:

03 - BLACKSTUDIO TINYMCE 2.2.8 (Recommended)
15 - PAGEBUILDER By SiteOrigin 2.2.2 (Recommended)
18 - SITEORIGIN WIDGET BUNDLE 1.5.4 (Recommended)
21 - TJ CUSTOM CSS 0.1.5 (Theme Junkie) (Recommended)
22 - TOOLSET TYPES 1.8.11 (Recommended)

After the editing was complete, I re-activated back the rest of my plugins…

Thanks a lot for the precious advice!

Best regards.

Hi,

If you activate your plugins one-by-one and check the editor after every plugin activation, you will see which one have caused the conflict, so in future if you still want to use that plugin you will just have to deactivate that one only.

Best Regards,
Csaba
