Sydney theme: parent page does not show child page content

Hello,
Im usig Sydney Theme as a child theme. Elementor as a builder
When create a page and make it child page it doesn’t show child content on parent page.

Also Anchor do not work on header slider button and if I copy with Inspector section ID shows error.
How to fix it?
I trayed with pages build with and without Elementor but the result is the same-shows error

parent page: https://km.yaitzeprom.bg/contacts/
child page: https://km.yaitzeprom.bg/team2/

I need when click on menu to go to specific part of any page so the options that have are to make child page or to have Anchor, but both do not work

Hello,

First thanks for using our theme and sorry the delay here!

Im usig Sydney Theme as a child theme. Elementor as a builder
When create a page and make it child page it doesn’t show child content on parent page.

I am little confused here, since child pages do not show their content inside the parent page. Can you explain with more details ?

Also Anchor do not work on header slider button and if I copy with Inspector section ID shows error.
How to fix it?

I saw you’ve defined the button link to #primary, but inspecting your website code we couldn’t find any section with the ID primary, and that’s the reason this is not working. Please try editing the page with Elementor and then, give the primary ID to the desired section you want the button scroll to:

I need when click on menu to go to specific part of any page so the options that have are to make child page or to have Anchor, but both do not work

You should create custom links for that, so you can define hashs/IDs to scroll until the desired section. For example, go to Appearance > Customize > Menus and create a custom link like the image below:

OBS: Make sure you have a section with the ID to scroll to (like I explained before).

We hope this helps!

Please try that and let us know if you need further assistance.

Hello Rodrigo,

Thanks for reply!

The purpose of what I want is to build a page that consists of several pages.I’ve used Wordpress theme before on which when you create a page or pages as child, the parent page shows first it’s when you open the parent page it first shows its own content and then the content of child1, child2 …, which is very convenient. This way you can easily display the same content (page) on several pages and if you need editing, you only edit in one place.
I can’t do that with the Sydney theme.

The way to inser Anchor for section is working if it is on the same page ( for example button on home page and if the anchor is in home page content).
If did menu as you describe, but do not work. Could you check
At page https://km.yaitzeprom.bg/?page_id=1806 at the bottom I have section #Our Team
I created menu Section Team. If I’m on the page above https://km.yaitzeprom.bg/?page_id=1806 and click Section-Team it goes to section. But if I’m on another page as Home or other it only add to the ID of the section to link but do not open it . Here is link shown after click https://km.yaitzeprom.bg/#our-team

Strange but while trying to explain the problem I found a solution. I don’t know if it’s the best, but in the menu link if it adds the full address of the link to the section - it works. Do you think this is a good practice?

Also, can I adjust the height at which scroll, because now a little covers the section?

This is a specific feature from the theme you’ve used before. Unfortunately Sydney do not comes with this kind of feature. Even the default WP themes does not comes with this feature.

Yes, that’s the solution. In the contact button link you should add the following:
https://km.yaitzeprom.bg/?page_id=1806/#our-team

Also, can I adjust the height at which scroll, because now a little covers the section?

Try doing the below steps:

  1. Install and activate the TC Custom JavaScript plugin
  2. Go To Appearance > Custom JavaScript
  3. Paste the following code into the provided box

    (function($){

        $(window).on('load', function(){

            if( window.location.hash == '#our-team' ) {
                $('html, body').animate({
                    scrollTop: $('#our-team').offset().top - 130
                }, 1000);
            }

        });

    })(jQuery)
