Sydney Sidebar Font

How do I change the font in the sidebar in Sydney. I also don’t want it to be all caps.

Hi,

Please post a link to your website, to a page where you have a sidebar, so I can check.

Kind Regards,
Csaba

humblerootsco,com Thanks!

Hi,

You can change the sidebar font and make it not be all caps with this Custom CSS:

#secondary .widget-title {
    font-family: "your-font" !important;
    text-transform: none !important;
}

Please add the above CSS to your Child Theme’s style.css or in case you haven’t setup a Child Theme already, then you can also add the CSS to wp-admin -> Appearance -> Customizer -> Additional CSS so you won’t loose the changes after Theme or WordPress updates.

Please let me know how it works.

Csaba

That worked. Thanks!

I also can’t seem to get the favicon to change. Right now it looks like the
letters HR. I did change it in WP, but it doesn’t seem to be working. Any
ideas? humblerootsco.com.

Hi,

You can change the favicon either by uploading a favicon.ico file to your server’s root directory or by using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/all-in-one-favicon/

Csaba

That worked on the site, but when I add the link to a Facebook post, it’s
still pulling in the “HR” logo, which I deleted from Wordpress.

Hi,

If you’re sure that favicon is not present anymore on your server, then please clear your server cache, so that should be replaced with your new favicon.

For my sidebar font, it is showing up differently on Safari versus Chrome,
but I only listed one font-family in the CSS.

Hi,

you must integrate the font you’re trying to use, so if you don’t know how to integrate the font, please let me know which font you’ve tried to use ( Google Font ), so I can give you the code you have to add in header.php to make it work in all browsers.

Kind Regards,
Csaba

The font is Roboto Thin. Please send me the code and let me know where to
put it.
Thanks so much!

Hi,

To use Roboto font you must add this code to your header.php file in <head> section:

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Roboto:100,300,400,700" rel="stylesheet">

Please let me know how it works.

Csaba

I did that, but it’s not working. The font is still showing up differently
on various browsers.

Hi,
Thank you so much for getting back to me! Unfortunately, I added the code
and the font is still not showing up the way I want it to.
It shows up differently on various browsers. Any ideas???
Thanks! Sharael

Hi,

You’ve used a wrong CSS, the “thin” is not font name, that is font-weight, so you must use font-weight 100 for thin, like with this CSS:

#secondary .widget-title {
    font-family: "roboto" !important;
    font-weight: 100 !important;
    text-transform: none !important;
}

Please let me know how it works.

I am using the Sydney theme and when I publish a post with a featured
image, the image shows up on the homepage and post page on a desktop
computer, but does not show up on the post pages on mobile. Please help!

How do I get rid of the “Jump to Recipe” and “Print Recipe” at the top of
the recipe? It didn’t used to be there.
Thanks!

Hi,

You can remove “Jump to Recipe” and “Print Recipe” links with this Custom CSS:

.wprm-automatic-recipe-snippets.align-center {
    display: none !important;
}

I do see the featured images on your homepage, but can you, please let me know on which page the featured images doesn’t show up? I also see that you’re using Jetpack’s Mobile Theme, so that won’t show your full website, please deactivate Jetpack if you’re not using it or just remove the Mobile Theme option from it, so your website will show the correct theme on mobiles too.

Csaba
