Sydney Pro- Blog page style

Hi,

I really like the style built in Sydney Pro

http://demo.athemes.com/themes/?theme=Sydney%20Pro

I am using a child theme, and are getting what seems to be a standard WP blog page style

http://ferguson.uk.com/wp/index.php/blog/

How can I use the styling from the Sydney Pro Blog page?

Thanks

Nigel

Dear Nigel,

So you want to replicate this layout: http://demo.athemes.com/sydney-pro/my-blog-page/?

No, I want to use this one:

Somehow it does not seem to be there as part of my theme installation.

Thanks

Hello there,

It can be easily done by doing these steps:

  1. Create a blank page and name it as “Blog”
  2. Go to Settings > Reading > Front page displays > select “A static page (select below)” then select your front page page. For posts page, select “Blog”
  3. Save changes
  4. Navigate Appearance > Customize > Blog options > Layout > select classic blog layout
  5. Save & Publish

Hi,

I had done that but I guess i was expecting it to look like the page on your demo, with the widgets down the right hand side of the screen.

When I add widget using page builder, I have 2 issues.

  1. I can see the widgets appear when i refresh the page, but when the page populates with the posts, they seem to go over the top over them so they cannot be seen.

Also, I cannot get the widgets to align to the left as per the demo - I had a look at the code but cannot see exactly what it is doing.

Many Thanks

Nigel

Sorry mean’t to include this screenshot.

Hello there,

The sidebar on our post details page wasn’t built using page builder; even the page builder is disabled there. But it comes from Appearance > Sidebar. To show the sidebar on the right side, be sure that the full width single posts option is disabled on the below path:

Appearance > Customize > Blog options > Layout

Thank you.

I didn’t have anything in the WP appearance menu, but you put me on the right track and I found the sidebar option in customise/widgets - so all done.

Many Thanks

Nigel
