Styling a:hover color in additional CSS not showing on front end

I am attempting to change the defined color for a:hover via the additional CSS function built into the wordpress customize function. When I define a color it does not change the original color to the new color, it displays the predefined blueish color of the theme.

I also change it in the actual theme files and was also not able to see any changes.

Any suggestions?

thank you

Hi,

You can change the a:hover to any other color using this Custom CSS:

a:hover {
    color: red !important;
}

Please add the above CSS to your Child Theme’s style.css or in case you haven’t setup a Child Theme already, then you can also use this plugin to add the CSS to it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ so you will not loose the changes on theme updates.

Please let me know how it works.

Awesome, this was very helpful!

Also I am just adding via the “additional CSS” function that is now provided under the wordpress functions in customize. This way the theme can also update without changin any added css styling!

again, thank you!

Hi,

Great! You’re most welcome! Yes, you can add it there too. If you need help with anything else, please, feel free to open a new topic.

Have a nice day!
