Static front page and seperate blogs issue

Hi there!

Thank you for this lovely theme, like it alot!

I have a question regarding the use of a static frontpage in combination with having the blog overview on another page.

I created a page called Welkom which is going to be the homepage. I created another page called blogs which will be the page where the last posts will be shown. Whenever using these settings the pages don’t seem to work properly anymore. I made a few screenshots of the issue.

I searched around this forum and saw a possible solution for this problem.

However I seem to miss this option completely? I cannot set a page template for a page.
Would having this option solve this problem or is there another solution?
Can you help me with this issue?

Thank you so much already!

Kind regards

In wp-admin > Settings > Reading you can set as Static Homepage the page you want to be your homepage and as Posts Page the page you want to be your Blog page and the blog page will have a sidebar by default.

Hi Csaba.

Thank you for replying!
I did the things you said and Image 3 & 4 are the outcome of doing so.
Seems to bug out :frowning:

Any tips on how to fix that?

Please post a link to your website, so I can check, also, please point out what is not working correctly on 3 and 4.

Best Regards,

Hi Csaba,

The website is
It’s currently live so I cannot change it because the layout will be messed up.
Ill try to explain it better with the images below.

Image 1: Current homepage (default settings, no static page)
Image 2: Welkom page (Another page at the moment. I want to make this one the homepage)
Image 3: set as static page
Image 4: set as posts page

The current version of the site are image 1 & 2.
I basically want to swap these pages (welkom as home, and a seperate page for blogs)
However when I set the welkom page to be the home page and the other page to be the blogs page the layout gets messy. As seen in image #3 & #4.
How can I make it that the pages have the correct layout as #1 & #2?

Hope this is more understandable.

Thank you so much for helping me.

If you need any more information, let me know

Kind regards,

I think I understand now better, but As Static Homepage you can’t have the masonry layout, because the static homepage will not have the Blog layout anymore, the Blog layout will have the Blog Page ( the page you set to Posts Pages in Settings ), the homepage will only show 1 content area, like you have on screenshot #3, what you can do is to make it full width, but you can’t add 3 content’s since static pages have only 1 area to add content to.
