Since installing Sydney theme the back ground is completely blank. I don’t see the woman’s hand holding the mobile slide show {probably quite minor} but why’s it showing like this?

From your site’s dashboard, visit Appearance > Customize menu; then navigate to Header area > Header Slider; and check if slide images still present in there.
