Sidebar menu on blog category page

Hi support,

I am using the Finance theme and I noticed under Add New Page there is no “Blog” Page Template.

Because of this I created a custom link on the main menu, and the URL i placed on that link is the link for the blog category.

My question is, when I am in the page that has the category of blog posts there is a sidebar menu. How can I remove this sidebar so it is full width?

Since it is a category URL and not a normal page, there is no “Edit Page” option where I can make this Full Width.

Please see the screenshot below and the website links for more details.

I appreciate your help in removing the sidebar menu from the page in the screenshot.

Thank you,
German

Hello there,

Try adding this CSS code to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS from dashboard.

    .category-news #secondary.widget-area {
      display: none;
    }

    @media only screen and (min-width: 992px) {
      #primary.col-md-9 {
        width: 100%;
      }
    }

Hi Kharis, thank you for your help. I tried the code but although it solved the issue, the pages that do have a sidebar menu (such as the Shop Product Categories) now have the sidebar menu below the content instead of the side. Please see the screenshot for reference. What can I do to fix the sidebar menu on the pages that have a sidebar menu?

Hello there,

Please try replacing the code I suggested with this one:

    .category-news #secondary.widget-area {
      display: none;
    }

    @media only screen and (min-width: 992px) {
      .category-news #primary.col-md-9 {
        width: 100%;
      }
    }

Regards,
Kharis
