Search Widget Affected by Slider

Hi Kharis,

Everything u suggested works.

However, I realize that the default WP Search Widget probably works but it is the theme slider that’s causing it to appear wonky.

If I type fast enough I can find the pages. E.g. if I copy and quickly paste in Phoenix, I do get to the page:

Is there any way this can be fixed as I would like to retain the cool slider images?

Do you know if any other WP Search Plugin that can do the stuff I need:

– Insert some search suggestions in the Search Box space?

Hello Christie,

Please try to replace the jQuery code you inserted into Settings > Header and Footer Scripts > Scripts in footer with this:

    "use strict";

    if( $('.header-slider').length ) {
      jQuery(window).load(function () {
        var topSearch  = $('.top-search');

Then add the following CSS code into Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.

.top-search {
  position: absolute;
  z-index: 9999;
  display: block;
  max-width: 250px;
  left: 50%;
  top: 80%;
  -webkit-transform: translateY(-50%);
  -moz-transform: translateY(-50%);
  -ms-transform: translateY(-50%);
  -o-transform: translateY(-50%);
  transform: translateY(-50%);
  -webkit-transform: translateX(-50%);
  -moz-transform: translateX(-50%);
  -ms-transform: translateX(-50%);
  -o-transform: translateX(-50%);
  transform: translateX(-50%);
  padding: 0 !important;

Let me know how it goes.

Do you know if any other WP Search Plugin that can do the stuff I need:

– Insert some search suggestions in the Search Box space?

I am sorry, I don’t have a specific plugin to recommend. Try to browse the one from this search result.

Hi Kharis,

Your codes are good!

Search box is working well now:

Hi Kharis,

I probably need to start a new thread.

The theme is pretty good but I found it difficult to make adjustments. For e.g.

  1. The Slider Images are great but because these images can be light colored or dark, it is difficult to get a text font that works with both light and dark as can be seen on my current 2 Slider Images at

This affects both the Slider Text and the Menu.

It is the same problem on Page Headers as well, see

Is there a way to

a) really enlarge the fonts as a way to trial and error till a suitable color can be found for both light and dark images? The Google fonts do not seem easy to tailor.
b) move the Menu to below the Slider Image and on Pages, below the Page Header Image? This will at least solve one problem.

  1. I experimented with having Slider Images for Pages as well but

a) there is no way to change the Images as Pages simply pull from the Frontpage Slider Images
b) the Search box disappears even though I want it

Are there solutions to the above that are available only in the Pro version?

Hello there,

Thank you for updating me. Glad to hear that the last code corked well for you.

For other queries, you’d better to write them in a new topic as it doesn’t seem to relate with the initial topic about search form in the header slider. We’d be more than happy to assist you in your other new topic.

Have a nice day!

Hi Kharis,

As advised, I have started a new thread here:
