Responsive Sydney Theme

Hi there,

Is there a way to make my sydney child theme responsive where it will display the same output regardless the screen size and resolution?

Thank you

Hello @kamens,

It should be responsive by default. Or you have some issues?

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi Roman,

In that case, i do have some issues then. the layout of the website i’m designing somehow appear differently on different monitor/computer screen.
for example http://www.nourishsr.com/index.php/contact-us-eng/
in my 10.2inches screen, the “send” button on the form and “stockist” are on the same line, however in my 27 inches monitor, it displays differently. is there something i’m missing?

Thank you very much for the response.

Hello @kamens,

Can you please provide some explanatory screenshots?

You can upload screenshots to your WordPress Media Library and share a link, or you can use one of the online services (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.).

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi Roman,
Below are the links:
1.1 http://www.nourishsr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/FormImage_Alignment_10Inches_Screen.png
1.2 http://www.nourishsr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/FormImage_Alignment_27Inches_Screen.png
As you can see, the Alignment between the form button and Stockish image are not the same.

2.1 http://www.nourishsr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/MenuSocialMedia_Alignment_10Inches_Screen.png
2.2 http://www.nourishsr.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/MenuSocialMedia_Alignment_27Inches_Screen.png
In these screenshot, menu alignments and social button appearances are different.

Thank you and really appreciate for your time

Hello @kamens,

Well, I have just checked your website once again and it looks like it happens because your Select Language and Stocklists sections are images.

I don’t think that it can be easily fixed, but you can try to recreate these sections in Text widgets using HTML.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi Guys,

My issue is essentially the same as the OP, so I thought I should post it here, but I’m happy to open a new ticket and copy this over if need be. I’d love to find out how to build pages in Sydney that are responsive across screens.

Example:

I add a slideshow gallery to a blank page using the Front Page template and Smart Slider 3 plugin. A demo slideshow is 1200x600 and set to be fully responsive in height and width. (Whether I use the SiteOrigin pagebuilder or not, the result is the same, btw.)

My laptop display is 1355x768, my desktop is 1680x1050.

On my laptop, the page will overflow so that some down scrolling is needed.

On my desktop, my page comes up way short with the bottom of the footer 2 inches from the bottom of the screen.

I can adjust the padding on either screen to get everything to fit without scrolling either way, but only that screen will display things properly; the other screen will not. Is there a way to get a display like this, which requires no scrolling on either of my screens? http://www.sully-movie.com/#gallery

Thanks in advance!
Eric
