Resizing the sidebar on Blog pages ONLY

Hi there.

I’ve been having a lot of fun building a new site using your Sydney theme (had read alot about it so thought I would give it a go!).

The site is almost finished but I’ve ran into a problem with two things regarding the Blog.

  1. Resizing the sidebar on just the Blog page(s); including single posts.

I saw this post from yourselves as a possible answer:
Size of the Sidebar

But the CSS contained within shifted all the widgets featured in my footer.

Currently I have added the following CSS to my Child Theme in order to resize the Blog posts (works perfect - see image below):

/* Change width of Blog post content */
.blog .hentry, .single-post .hentry, .single-post .comments-area {
max-width: 700px;
width: 100%;
}

Can you help with the sidebar? Or advise which class I need to target so I can do something similar to the above?

  1. Can you advise me how I can remove the 'Posted in… ’ section using CSS (as highlighted in the above image)?

Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Cheers,

Gaz

UPDATE: I’ve managed to answer my second question (above).

I used the following and it works. :o)

/* Remove ‘Posted by/in’ info on Blog posts */
.hentry .meta-post .cat-links {
display: none;}

.single .byline, .group-blog .byline {
display: none;
}

Hi there,

Please try this to resize the sidebar:

.blog #primary, .single-post #primary {
    width: 65%;
}
.blog #secondary, .single-post #secondary {
    width: 35%;
}

Regards,
Awan

Hi Awan,

That works perfectly, thank you. I was banging my head against the wall trying to isolate the CSS to perform this function! :o)

Many thanks for your reply.

Cheers,

Gaz

Happy to help :slight_smile:
