Removing Footer from West

Hi guys,

First I want to thank you for creating the West theme and making it freely available - it looks great. My question is the following:

Is it possible to remove the Powered by Wordpress footer? I have tried importing via Simple CSS an JS

.site-footer {
display: none;
}

or

.site-info {

display:none;
}

with no success. I am using one of the pre-made layouts imported via Live Composer and I believe this is causing the complication. Bare in mind, I’m a wordpress noob and have 0 coding skills.

Thanks in advance!

Hello there,

This code should work.

.site-footer {
 display: none;
}

Please be sure that the group of CSS code where it be part of is error free. You can check it using this tool: https://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/#validate_by_input

Dear Kharis,

Thanks for the quick reaction! However, I am unable to get it to work. I noticed the following error in Live Composer, which can be disturbing the plugin:

JavaScript error detected in a third-party plugin Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'value' of null File "http://gargarage.com/wp-content/plugins/im-custom-css/admin/lib/codemirror/lib/codemirror.js?ver=1.0.0", line 5909, char 29

Any ideas?

Many thanks,

Hello there,

Could you please remove the code you applied? Then try the following instead:

Install and activate the Simple Custom CSS. Next, go to Appearance > Custom CSS. Then paste the following code into the provided box.

.site-footer {
 display: none;
}

Update and refresh your page.

Hey Kharis,

Thanks again! It turned out that I had created a mess by also installing IM Custom CSS and apparently it overuled Simple Custom CSS. I put the code you suggested into IM Custom CSS and it finally worked!

Many thanks for the quick support!

Have a great day!
