Remove page background

Hi there – I have a quick question for you. I’ve searched through the forums and tried some troubleshooting, but I can’t get the white background to remove on my page: http://www.pureresilienceyoga.com/retreat/.

I want the yellow page background I uploaded to float behind the text (without the white background). I set the page background image and also tried some custom CSS to make the page background transparent. Can you help?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi,

If you want to have the content background transparent only on the page you have posted the link to, then you can use this Custom CSS:

.page-id-1100 .hentry {
    background-color: transparent;
}

if you want the content background to be transparent on all pages, then use this one:

.hentry {
    background-color: transparent;
}

Add the above CSS to your Child Theme’s style.css or in case you haven’t setup a Child Theme already, then you can also use this plugin to add the CSS to it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ so you will not loose the changes on theme updates.

Please let me know how it works.

Csaba

Thank you so much for your reply. I added that to the simple custom css, but it didn’t work. Here’s exactly what I have added for this page. Could you have another look and advise? Thank you!!

.page-id-1100.hentry {
background-color: transparent;
}

body.page-id-1100 {
background-image: url(‘http://www.pureresilienceyoga.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/element-background-with-birds-1500-2250.jpg’) !important;
}

Just to clarify a bit more… I added the css to set the background transparent on all pages (see below) and it worked, but I would still prefer to have it only be transparent on one page. Maybe there’s just something simple happening when I try the CSS with body.page-id-1100???

Thanks for this. Was wondering myself, especially if I only want to change it for a specific page.

Hi Mary,

Please try this Custom CSS instead:

.page-id-1100 .hentry {
    background-color: transparent !important;
}

The problem was that there wasn’t space between .hentry and the page-id.

@Rh3nium

Please post a link to the page where you want to change it, so I can give you the correct Custom CSS.

Csaba

I figured it out, thanks @Csaba
