Remove menu button color

Hello,

I’d like to remove menu button color.

To make it black as background. Color when hover stays as is. How can it be done? Thanks

Hello @fater,

Please try to use the following CSS code.

You can add CSS code in DashboardAppearanceCustomizeAdditional CSS (WordPress 4.7 and up). Also you can add CSS code directly to style.css file of your child theme.

#main-navigation li.current-menu-item > a {
    background-color: black;
}

#main-navigation li.current-menu-item::after {
    color: #666 !important;
}

#main-navigation li.current-menu-item > a:hover {
    background-color: #ff2828;
}

Please feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hello @roman

I paste the code as you instructed. First to “Additional CSS” - didn’t work, then tried with style.css - also didn’t work. Additionally I’ve tried with Custom CSS plugin, also didn’t work. Any idea what can I do to make it work?

Thanks.

Hello @fater,

Please try to use this CSS code instead:

#main-navigation li.current_page_item > a,
#main-navigation li.current-menu-item > a {
    background: none;
}

#main-navigation li.current_page_item > a:hover,
#main-navigation li.current-menu-item > a:hover {
    background: #dd9933;
}

Z poważaniem, Roman.

It did work. Thank you Roman.

You are welcome @fater,

Kind Regards, Roman.
