Reducing Footer Size

Hi,

Is it possible to reduce the size of the footer and what appears to be a divider line at the bottom of the page on my website which uses Sydney (https://www.russellip.com)?

In particular, I would like to remove the white space above and below the text in the footer and also, if possible, to remove the thin horizontal line at the bottom of the page.

Many thanks in advance!

Iain

Hi,

Add this CSS code below to reduce the empty space on your footer site:

div#sidebar-footer {
    padding: 20px 0;
}

.site-footer {
    display: none;
}

.widget-area .widget {
    margin-bottom: 10px;
}

Hi Awan,

That’s phenomenal. Thank you so much!

On a very closely related point, is it possible to remove the light horizontal line above the copyright notice here (https://addressforservice.co.uk), which also uses the Sydney theme? I’ve already applied the code you helpfully provided above to reduce the white space above and below the footer.

Hi,

To remove the line above the copyright section, you can add the below simple CSS code to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS from dashboard.

    .footer-widgets.widget-area {
      border: none;
    }
