Projects without text

Hi,

I’m thinking of using the Masonry Portfolio. Since I have way to much different stuff in the normal blog posts, I want to use projects. That Project then should not have any text, so is it possible to remove the Project title and description text from specific projects? If I need to choose a project name and describe it, it would be a duplicate content with the according blog post.

Next is the alignment and padding. Now its left aligned and has space btw the images on a larger screen. I would want it to center with no space btw the images or resize to use the full width.

Hi,

I don’t see any text / description on your projects, can you please post a link to a page from where you want to remove it and adjust the padding of the projects.

Hi, I’m sorry, I was still testing. Right now, I’m not displaying projects, but posts. When I use the “frontpage” template, I get the full width design I want, but padding left and right. Now, I’m using “full width”, which removes space left and right from the images. I’m fine with that.

But now you see there is padding below the images. Does that mean I need to provide square featured images?

BTW, I started playing with projects and now see, when I want to create a project, the editor looks exactly like when creating a normal blog post. In the past, I believe that looked different. Fine for me, since I only want a gallery shown there, not title and no text.

But: If I have to choose a title, would it be possible to display it as an overlay in the overview? Please check the Adobe Portfolio as a reference: http://portfolio.danielbierstedt.de

Next question would be: If I use projects as a portfolio, how to sort them? Are they displayed in the order of creation?

Hi,

Yes, they will be ordered after Post Dates.

Csaba

UPDATE:
I created some projects to see if they behave different. Looks like the overlay is always a bit bigger at the bottom. Is there any way to make it look like in the example?

Hi,

You can remove the margin-bottom from the image with this Custom CSS:

.hentry .entry-content .isotope-item img {
    margin-bottom: 0 !important;
}

So the overlay will be just over the image, without any empty space at the bottom.

Please add the above CSS to your Child Theme’s style.css or in case you haven’t setup a Child Theme already, then you can also use this plugin to add the CSS to it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ so you will not loose the changes on theme updates.

Please let me know how it works.

Csaba

That works, thank you very much!
