Post page with rows like front page template

Hello

First of all congrats for the Sydney theme. It’s really awesome !

I’m using the free version for now, and intend to purchase pro version.

Before that, I have a small issue to solve.

I would like to display posts in same way as pages, and more precisely like “demo-2” page we can find as example.
I want - using Site Origin Page Builder - to display post contents in rows.
I managed to do it.

However, I have a blank space between my last row and the footer. But I want them to be stuck together.

I search for some paddings in the style.css, but didn’t find how it works.

It looks it’s about classes container, content-wrapper, content-area, but I didn’t see anything to solve my issue.

I hope you can help !

Thanks

Hello there,

Demo 2 uses Front Page template. Have you enabled it?

Hello,

Maybe I didn’t explain well ; sorry for my bad english

Actually, I wanted to apply Front Page template to Posts.

I think I found how to do, by modifying content-single.php

Am I correct ?

Hello there,

Is there any reason why you don’t use page instead of post?

To apply the same style on single post, you can add the following custom CSS code into your site’s additional CSS option which resides under the Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.

.single .page-wrap {
   padding-top: 0;
   padding-bottom: 0;
}

.single .entry-footer {
   display: none;
}

.single .post-navigation {
   display: none;
}

.single .page-wrap .content-wrapper {
   padding-top: 0;
   padding-bottom: 0;
}

.single #secondary {
   display: none;
}

.single #primary {
   width: 100%;
}

To apply it on your specific post, use post ID. So the final code will look like this:

.single.postid-678 .page-wrap {
   padding-top: 0;
   padding-bottom: 0;
}

.single.postid-678 .entry-footer {
   display: none;
}

.single.postid-678 .post-navigation {
   display: none;
}

.single.postid-678 .page-wrap .content-wrapper {
   padding-top: 0;
   padding-bottom: 0;
}

.single.postid-678 #secondary {
   display: none;
}

.single.postid-678 #primary {
   width: 100%;
}

Hello Kharis,

Thank you very much for your suggestions. I’ll try them.

Actually, I want to set up a website for IT peripherals. I’m going to use Sydney theme for that. In the beginning, I intended to create each of my product use PAGES.

But on another Wordpress forum, somebody explained me I should use POSTS, to be able to group them by caterogies and tags. I have no idea if it’s so useful ?

By the way, I can see Sydney pro offers Woocommerce support. Can you explain me how the products I will create as POSTS (or PAGES) will appear in the shop ? Is there any specific thing to do ?

Thanks !

By the way Kharis, what is your suggestion : should I use POSTS or PAGE for my products ?

Please read the basic purpose of page and post on the below links:

Please review our shop page here where the products rely on its own post type, its Product. To manage your products with WooCommerce, please see this documentation.

Regards,
Kharis

Hello,

Indeed, I have previously understood the difference between Posts and Pages.
As far as I understand, key differences between both are :

  • posts are timely / pages are timeless (static content)
  • posts are social / pages have no social aim

That’s why for me, Pages were more suitable for my products.
I got confused because of some answers I got from other forums.

And in the end, i’m still not sure of what to use :slight_smile:
