Polish letters

#1

Hello,
I’m using Fashionista theme on my website (http://www.oferty-przetargowe.com.pl/) and I would like to report the following issues:

  1. Look at a print screen attachment file “OP_error_1_Oferta”:
    1.3. The Polish letters (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_alphabet) are not being properly displayed in Droid Sans font. It is bizarre, because this font available on Google Fonts website does include Polish characters in Latin character set. Please find attached a pdf file “GF_Droid_Sans“, which is a print screen of Polish characters seen in Droid Sans font file downloaded from Google Fonts; on top of that, the paragraphs are being correctly displayed in other fonts, such as Open Sans, which I don’t like as much as Droid Sans;

Please provide e-mail address to send a print screen.

Michal Szczepanski

Hi,

Please try to add this code to header.php in <head> section:

<link href=‘https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Droid+Sans’ rel=‘stylesheet’ type=‘text/css’>

and let me know how it works after ( this should call the Droid Sans font correctly from Google fonts, just make sure you typed correctly the letter you want to appear there ).

Best Regards,
Csaba

I think I ve got simmilar quesiton. Please take a look at this site:

http://www.marketingsolutions.com.pl/partner-google/

headlines with polish characters does not look good. Can you help me fix that?

Hi @gasiopr,

How I see you use Raleway font which don’t have that characters included by default, so the letters which are not part of the font-family are displayed with a web safe font ( like Arial for example ). What you can do is to change the font-family to Open Sans for example, which have the polish characters ( how I see your characters may show using Open Sans ).

Csaba

Hi,

Just to make sure, I went to Appearance > Editor and on right sidebar I clicked "Theme Header (header.php).
I have entered the line of code, but it didn’t change anything.
After which line should I paste it?

Hi Michal,

I have replied to you regarding the Oswald ( Oferta ) font on your other topic, also I pointed out where you have to add the code, the header.php you can edit in wp-admin / Appearance / Editor.

Hi Csaba,

As I said in post on February 4, 2016 at 3:06 pm, I have included the line of code, but it does not work.
As I mentioned today, the Polish characters are included in Droid Sans font family.
