Overriding CSS in customizer for sidebar color

Hello!

Currently the CSS for the sidebar widget textbox is being overridden by the color option in the customizer for the sidebar. This results in a solid color text for all of the text box widgets and not using the style css for the theme colors

I can not find a way to override the sidebar color option (i actually want to remove it) so that the css from the main stylesheet will be the default. I would like the colors in the text box widgets to match the rest of the website.

How can I control this?

Hi,

Please post a link to your website, to a page where you have a sidebar where you want to override the text color, so I can give you a Custom CSS that will override it.

Thank you:

I’m trying to get the colors in the sidebar to match the colors in the rest of the site: links are red with a hover color of dark gray.

Thank you! M

Hi,

Ok, you can change the link colors in widget areas with this Custom CSS:

#secondary a {
    color: #d65050 !important;
}

#secondary a:hover {
    color: #333 !important;
}

Please add the above CSS to your Child Theme’s style.css or in case you haven’t setup a Child Theme already, then you can also use this plugin to add the CSS to it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ so you will not loose the changes on theme updates.

Please let me know how it works.

Csaba

That worked perfectly! Thank you very much!
