One Page Design

How do I implement a one page design within the navigation? So instead of taking me to a different page for contact, I want it to take me to just that particular section of the front page.

Hello @rclay26,

All you have to do is to create your menu items as custom links and use this link structure:

http://example.com/#section-id

Just replace http://example.com/ with your home page URL, and #section-id with the id of respective section.

You can find the id of an element by doing a right-click on it, select Inspect Element and find something like this:

<div id="pg-220-1" class="panel-grid"… - in this case, pg-220-1 is the id of a div element.

For more information you can refer to this guide.

I hope that it will help you.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Are you saying to change the permalinks? If so, I have actually already tried that and Wordpress gives me an error. Maybe I am just misunderstanding though?

Edit: Found it! Thanks for the help!

You are welcome @rclay26,

And have a nice day :slight_smile:

What do we do if we have the following situation:

.current-menu-item {
    border-bottom: 3px solid #0075af;
}

Now all my links that are supposed to navigate down the page are effected by the .current-menu-item class. But i need only the active link to have the .current-menu-item class not all of them.

How can i avoid this?

Thanks
Ukan

Hello Ukan,

You can try to use this CSS code instead of the code that you mentioned above:

.current-menu-item a:not([href*="#"]) {
    border-bottom: 3px solid #0075af;
}

Kind Regards, Roman.

P. S.
It’s better to create your own topic for your issue to keep forum in good order and make it easier to help you.

That was it, the issue is now fixed.

Thank you very much for your help.

Regards,
Ukan
