I love Cali, but the home page is a bit boring with all the blogs listed in those 2 columns.
Is it possible to place a larger thumb or maybe even a banner in between?

I am sorry, currently there is no setting for that. You’ll need to make your own code changes to make it possible. I’d recommend hiring a WordPress coder in case you’re unsure of doing so by yourself.
