Not a Google font for Sydney Pro

Hi Guys,
I’d need to use everywhere in this web site this font I bought:
LexieReadable
I have 4 file .ttf :
LexieReadable-Regular
LexieReadable-Bold
LexieReadable-BoldItalic
LexieReadable-Italic

I uploaded all in the new folder font-face

I already tried with these 3 solutions alone and mixed:
How to change font?
Font Type, Size and Hierarchy
and this https://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/custom-fonts-css/

I tried many times with no effects.

I uploaded all in the new folder font-face
then I added your modified code in style.css

Probably I do a small or big mistake that makes all changes useless …

@font-face {
  font-family: "LexieReadable";
  src: url('font-face/LexieReadable.eot');
  src: url('font-face/LexieReadable.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),
       url('font-face/LexieReadable.woff') format('woff'),
       url('font-face/LexieReadable.ttf') format('truetype');
}
body,
#mainnav ul ul a{
  font-family: "LexieReadable", sans-serif;
}

Save and update, all cache purged,
with no effects…

I also tried to add the second code you suggested:

body,
#mainnav ul ul a{
  font-family: "LexieReadable", sans-serif !important;
}

h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, #mainnav ul li a, .portfolio-info, .roll-testimonials .name, .roll-team .team-content .name, .roll-team .team-item .team-pop .name, .roll-tabs .menu-tab li a, .roll-testimonials .name, .roll-project .project-filter li a, .roll-button, .roll-counter .name-count, .roll-counter .numb-count button, input[type="button"], input[type="reset"], input[type="submit"] {
  font-family: "LexieReadable", sans-serif !important;
}

Still no effects…

Then in Appearance > Customize > Fonts >
I changed standard font names there with:
BODY FONTS
Font name/style/sets
LexieReadable:400,600
Font family
‘LexieReadable’, sans-serif

HEADINGS FONTS
Font name/style/sets
LexieReadable:400,400i,500,500i
Font family
‘LexieReadable’, sans-serif

I have the effect that body font changed… but it isn’t LexieReadable…

I’m puzzled

Can you help me?
I’d like to use LexieReadable everywhere for any kind of text.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi Roman, thank you very much for your answer.
Yes, I tried the tutorial you linked.
I tried to add, as mentioned, this code to WordPress customizer and under Additional CSS:

@font-face {
font-family; LexieReadable-Bold
src: url (https://papaveriestelle.com/wp-content/themes/sydney-pro-ii/fonts/LexieReadable-Bold.ttf);
}
@font-face {
font-family; LexieReadable-BoldItalic
src: url (https://papaveriestelle.com/wp-content/themes/sydney-pro-ii/fonts/LexieReadable-BoldItalic.ttf);
}
@font-face {
font-family; LexieReadable-Italic
src: url (https://papaveriestelle.com/wp-content/themes/sydney-pro-ii/fonts/LexieReadable-Italic.ttf);
}
@font-face {
font-family; LexieReadable-Regular
src: url (https://papaveriestelle.com/wp-content/themes/sydney-pro-ii/fonts/LexieReadable-Regular.ttf);
}

with no results (with 8 errors as WP tell me).
I’m not familiar with code changes, as I said, so I might have made a small or big mistake that blocks the changes. Could you check the code I had previously entered (the one shown on the topic opening post) that was the product of all the researches done or this and tell me where the error is and how can I solve it?
Is the problem that the font is divided into 4 files?
thanks a lot.
Dario

Hello Dario,

It looks like this issue requires close inspection, this goes beyond our support policy. As an option, you can contact Codeable for this kind of service, or find a reputable freelancer on Upwork. Hope for your understanding.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi Roman,

thanks for your answers but let me not agree.

My topic/question requires just a specifi Sydeny Pro method to add pro fonts (not Google fonts).

According to the indications on the support policies:

Support includes

  • Answering questions about the theme and its features (and how can the inclusion of a new font in the theme itself not be a question about the theme and its characteristics?);

I would also point out that there is no official specific guide for Sydney Pro II to introduce non-google fonts in the theme.

Also the tutorial you linked to me is generic, based on another theme and no comprehensive explanations are given on some steps for inclusion to add a pro fonts (not Google fonts).

Above all, then, there are no indications as to what kind of changes should be made in the font section of Sydney Pro, nor what additional CSS customizations should be made to introduce the font in the various sections of use (H1, H2, etc, basic text, etc , etc) and it could not be otherwise because these customizations are necessarily linked to the specific theme.

The point, at the moment is the Missing of a guide or a tutorial specific to Sydney Pro to install and use (precisely in this theme: Sydney Pro) of a pro font. And this, allow me Roman, is a lack because it is not such a strange necessity, especially at a certain level of use of Sydney Pro and users to which you too aspire.

I Hope for your understanding.

I also hope to have specific indications for installing a pro font in the Sydney Pro theme and for their use in the theme itself.

Thank you in advance.

Hello Dario,

My topic/question requires just a specifi Sydeny Pro method to add pro fonts (not Google fonts).

I really would be glad to help you, but I can’t dedicate that much time to one support issue. The thing is that Sydney Pro just doesn’t have such feature, and it’s not that easy to add fonts manually. I have just added this to our list (I also think that it’s a good idea, by the way) and hopefully that option will be added in a future theme update.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi,

You’re actually nearly there.

First, let’s clarify that you shouldn’t add other files to the theme. You should move your files somewhere else on your server and update the links. Also, you shouldn’t add code to the theme files.

  1. You’ve added your font-face code at the top of the style.css, but it’s badly formatted.
    Change it to:
@font-face {
font-family: LexieReadable-Bold;
src: url(https://papaveriestelle.com/wp-content/themes/sydney-pro-ii/fonts/LexieReadable-Bold.ttf);
}
@font-face {
font-family: LexieReadable-BoldItalic;
src: url(https://papaveriestelle.com/wp-content/themes/sydney-pro-ii/fonts/LexieReadable-BoldItalic.ttf);
}
@font-face {
font-family: LexieReadable-Italic;
src: url(https://papaveriestelle.com/wp-content/themes/sydney-pro-ii/fonts/LexieReadable-Italic.ttf);
}
@font-face {
font-family: LexieReadable-Regular;
src: url(https://papaveriestelle.com/wp-content/themes/sydney-pro-ii/fonts/LexieReadable-Regular.ttf);
}

Also move it in Customize > Additional CSS.

  1. In the Customizer, where you added LexieReadable , change it to LexieReadable-Regular

That’s about it.
