No bottom scroll button for content exceeding browser height

This is a rather small issue. The scroll to top button is missing on a page of my site where the content actually requires scrolling to the top. I assume it is because the footer has significant height.

Check out the Contacts page versus any other page.

Hello there,

I checked your site. And it displays fine to me.

Have you been able to get it resolved?

Not on the Contacts page. I wonder what could be the difference?

This is using Firefox v63 64 bit on a Ubuntu machine.

The browser zoom level is set to 100 percent.

Same problem using Chrome on Ubuntu 16

Hello there,

I checked once again on my Chrome on Mac computer. It’s displaying properly. And working fine on Chrome as well. Since we’re running different machine, it’s difficult to troubleshoot. However, try adding this CSS code to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS from dashboard.

.go-top.show {
  z-index: 99999 !important;
  opacity: 1 !important;
}

And see if it resolves the issue.

Please note that, flush cache/history both in your site or web browser each time new code added. Because it usually prevents it to take immediate effect in the frontend. https://codex.wordpress.org/I_Make_Changes_and_Nothing_Happens

I was sure to clear out both the browser and server caches. I tried this CSS modification, and it did not make any change. However, I fixed things by simply adding some additional content to this page to increase the vertical range. This suggests that the problem was unique to this page, it having less content than the others, perhaps some issue with calculating vertical heights.

All is well that ends well.

Thanks.

Happy to hear you figured that out yourself.

Probably you’d need to add the below CSS code to avoid vertical scroll detection.

    .go-top {
      opacity: 1;
      visibility: visible;
      bottom: 11px;
    }

and make it always be visible.

Hi Kharis. Can you take a look at the Contacts Page at www.robocomtech.com and see if you have any suggestions on making the underlying map image fixed.

I tried the following CSS and it did not effect any changes.

    panel-row-style-for-740-0 {
        background-attachment: initial !important;
        background-position: 100% 20% !important;
        background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
        background-attachment: fixed !important;
        background-position: 50% 50% !important;
    }

Also tried

    panel-row-style-for-740-0 {
        background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
        background-attachment: fixed !important;
        background-position: 50% 50% !important;
    }

Hello there,

Your CSS code seems incorrect. Try this:

    .panel-row-style-for-740-0 {
        background-attachment: initial !important;
        background-position: 100% 20% !important;
        background-repeat: no-repeat !important;
        background-attachment: fixed !important;
        background-position: 50% 50% !important;
    }

Ensure you add it to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS from dashboard.

Kharis

Yes, you were correct, I was missing the leading . character. Stupid mistake, thanks.

You’re welcome!
