No about us page of this particular theme

#1

As no about us page has been provided in this theme i have created a page in which i have selected from template dropdown->single service as i want this page to show up at my homepage just like services shows up and then on the click it opens up for more details.
Now i am getting a sidebar like related posts and archives i have removed them using the code below:

.page .content-area {
       width: 100%;
}

Now the sidebar is gone but still the content is left aligned. I want it to use the whole page.
What should i do now?
Open for all but as i have received help from you can you @vlad @roman please help.
Thanks alot.

Also this code deleted the sidebar from my posts page… I DON"T WANT THAT TO HAPPEN…
I want the sidebars only of my Aboutus page to be removed.

Hello @aashi,

As far as I understand, you want to remove sidebar and stretch content area only on your About page.

If yes, can you please provide a link to your About page to let me inspect it?

Kind Regards, Roman.

Sir @roman The site is still not live yet…
But I can share my tunnel link here… Will do??
If not then what’s another option?

Thanks

#5

Okay @aashi,

Please provide the ID of your About page.

You can find the class with page ID by viewing the source code of a page in browser an find this line:

<body class="home page page-id-1 page-template…

page-id-1 is a class with your page ID.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Please try to use the following CSS code to hide (not remove) sidebar on that page and stretch content area.

You can add CSS code to your site with Simple Custom CSS plugin (just copy CSS code and paste it in Dashboard → Appearance → Custom CSS after installing and activating the plugin). Also you can add CSS code directly to style.css file of your child theme.

body.page-id-324 div#primary {
    width: 100%;
}

body.page-id-324 aside#secondary {
    display: none;
}

Please feel free to ask any other questions that you might have.

Kind Regards, Roman.

@roman sir I don’t have a child theme… Is it necessary to have a child theme? And how to create child theme? I am curious to know why in every answer about changes in css you recommend to add in child theme??
Sorry but I am a beginner and know very less about all these things…
Thanks alot

Hello @aashi,

Can you please provide explanatory screenshot?

Hello @aashi,

Please try to use the following CSS code instead of previous.

body.page-id-324 div#primary {
    width: 100%;
}

body.page-id-324 aside#secondary {
    display: none;
}

body.page-id-324 div#content {
    margin: 0;
}

body.page-id-324 div#content > div.container{
    width: 100%;
}

Kind Regards, Roman.
