My footer is getting bigger by itself

During the last many updates (over time) my footer has been affected. First it got a white bar and now it has the white bar and some space.

My site is

Sydney theme with Sydney Child to avoid the footer being affected when updated.

I am sure it is some coding and I unfortunately don’t know enough coding to figure out the problem.

The code is in the Theme Side foot (direct translation from danish) and looks like this

 * The template for displaying the footer.
 * Contains the closing of the #content div and all content after
 * @package Sydney
	</div><!-- #content -->

	<?php if ( is_active_sidebar( 'footer-1' ) ) : ?>
		<?php get_sidebar('footer'); ?>
	<?php endif; ?>

    <a class="go-top"><i class="fa fa-angle-up"></i></a>

	<footer id="colophon" class="site-footer" role="contentinfo">
		<div class="site-info container">
			<a href="<?php bloginfo('siteurl'); ?>">Copyright 2000 - 2019 © BOESEN PHOTOGRAPHY & DESIGN</a>
		</div><!-- .site-info -->
	</footer><!-- #colophon -->
</div><!-- #page -->

<?php wp_footer(); ?>

The footer is suppose to be right under the icons.

Thanks for your time!

You can try to deactivate all your plugins except Sydney Toolbox and Page Builder by SiteOrigin, and see if it helps.

Thanks. I think I will wait with that since I need the different plugins.

Unless some other solution turns up I think I will rather try to just delete the custom footer and see what happens.

Hello, you can create a staging website for troubleshooting purposes:
