Mobile-Friendly Problems

Google has notified me that 33 out of 34 pages are not mobile friendly. Indeed, when I run the test, the page doesn’t load properly. Google lists several resources that aren’t loading properly including the Sydney CSS stylesheet, all images, etc. I’ve tried deactivating all plug-ins and it doesn’t make a difference. We never had this problem with our old theme, but since I know Sydney is designed to be mobile friendly, I wonder if something happened when we transitioned to Sydney? The kicker is that on actual mobile devices, the site looks and responds beautifully. It’s only the Google mobile test that is having issues.

This is our site: https://wellelaw.com/

Here’s a link to a test of the home page (all other pages test similarly except the main blog page, which passes the test but still doesn’t load resources properly).

I’ve been trying to solve this problem for quite awhile. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

Can you please deactivate all your plugins except Sydney Toolbox and Elementor, leave them deactivated, and leave here a note?

Kind Regards, Roman.

It’s just a note that here is the previous topic regarding this issue:

Thanks Roman. I have deactivated our plug-ins. Please let me know when I can reactivate them (especially Column Shortcodes and Contact Form 7) as they affect the appearance/functionality of some pages.

It may be worth noting that there is ONE page out of all 34 pages that comes up as mobile friendly (it still doesn’t load properly in the preview, however) and that is https://wellelaw.com/construction-law-blog/.

Hello,

It might be a caching issue since PageSpeed Insights display proper screenshot:

You can try to rebuild your website in a staging environment and see if it works as it should (then you will be able to move rebuilt website to production environment). Here is an extensive tutorial:

Kind Regards, Roman.

Ok, thank you. I’ll give it a try because I’m not sure what else to do! Do you have any insight as to what would cause a caching issue so that I can be sure to avoid it in the future? Thanks again for all of your help.

Hello,

You can check this WordPress Codex page regarding possible caching issues:

Kind Regards, Roman.

Was this issue ever resolved? I am getting the same error from google and would really like to avoid rebuilding my site in a staging environment

Unfortunately, it was never resolved for me. I ended up moving our site to a different theme and now it’s 100% mobile friendly. Too bad, because I really liked Sydney.
