Hi all,
I want to shift my menu a little to the left to take up some of the white space between the logo and ‘Home’ page. Would anyone know how to alter the codes for that?

Thank you

This will move it to the left:

.main-navigation ul {
      float: left;

Not really sure if this is what you’re looking for.

Hi Vlad,
I did try that and I did not work, I am emailing you a jepg so u can see what I mean. Unfortunately the site has a block.

Thanks for the codes Vlad, just in case anyone is interested in moving their menu items a little to the left, these are the codes

.site-branding {
width: 20%;
.main-navigation {
width: 80%;

One more question Vlad, I want an option for a transparent menu like Sydney Pro, I’ve tried the css codes, but it doesn’t work for me, would you be able to help?

This should do it:

#masthead {
    background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.9);

You can also switch the color and adjust the opacity (0.9), just make sure you keep a RGBA format.

Thanks Vlad, you’re a superstar!
I omitted to use the RGBA.

(One day I will get on that HTML5 and CSS3 course)

Where should I put this code?

.site-branding {
width: 20%;
.main-navigation {
width: 80%;

In the Custom CSS thingy in Sydney?

Hi wkstrm,

Please add the above CSS to your Child Theme’s style.css or in case you haven’t setup a Child Theme already, then you can also use this plugin to add the CSS to it: so you will not loose the changes on theme updates.

Best Regards,
