Menu

Dear Support,

Hope you are having awesome holidays with your families.

I have just updated the theme in my site for your earliest version and after that, the menu is fixed on the top of the pages, instead of hiding a showing when the page was rolled as before.

I haven’t done any changes to the configuration.

Can you please help? Site address is:

Kind Regards,
Rachel Elich

Hello Rachel,

I have just checked your website and it looks fine to me.

Can you please explain in detail how it worked before update?

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi Rowan,

What happened was similar to what is described in this thread here:

What i did was increase the page wrapper (top padding) size to compensate, so it looks ok however, the menu now is static. Before it didnt appear on the top unless you scrolled the screen down.

It is configured as a sticky menu (I checked) but is behaving as static.

Cheers,
Rachel

Hello Rachel,

I have just checked your website and your menu is sticky now.

Do you still need help?

Kind Regards, Roman.

Look… i think is fine. Just wish there weren’t so many updates.
Kind Regards,
Rachel

Okay Rachel :slight_smile:

Have a nice day!

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hello Roman,

I am having same issue and more. My header menu was similar if not the same with Rachel’s and after the update it became just white (without the picture behind) and it is not sticky.

Here is my site: http://authenticasset.com/overview/

Hello Estelle,

It looks like you have this custom CSS code:

.page-id-7 .site-header,
.page-id-286 .site-header,
.page-id-665 .site-header,
.page-id-287 .site-header,
.page-id-740 .site-header,
.page-id-435 .site-header{
    position: absolute !important;
    background-color: transparent !important;
}

Can you please try to remove it?

By the way, it is better to create your own topic for your question to keep forum in good order.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi Roman,

I took out the css code that you suggested and now the colour on my header menu is solid, before the upgrade the menu background is whatever picture I have on pages. Thus the css code. How can I make it same as before.

Hello Estelle,

As far as I understand, you want that header to look like the header on this page:

It can break some pages, do you want such header only on this page?

That is correct. It did look like that before on all other pages(template is all set to front page) before the update, and after update my header menu changed for no reason.

Estelle

Hello Estelle,

Did you modify theme files directly before update?

If yes, then you have to redo modifications again.

Kind Regards, Roman.

Hi Roman,

The modification that I did is this:

.page-id-7 .site-header,
.page-id-286 .site-header,
.page-id-665 .site-header,
.page-id-287 .site-header,
.page-id-740 .site-header,
.page-id-435 .site-header{
position: absolute !important;
background-color: transparent !important;
}

Which you asked me to remove. When I apply this again, I am back to same issue. What steps then should I take?

Hello Estelle,

Please try to use this custom CSS code:

.header-clone {
    display: none;
}

…instead of this:

.site-header {
    background-color: rgba(31,36,91,0.9);
}

You can add CSS code in DashboardAppearanceCustomizeAdditional CSS (WordPress 4.7 and up). Also you can add CSS code directly to style.css file of your child theme.

Kind Regards, Roman.
