Making hyperlinks function in Latest News Widget

I would like to keep and hyperlinks contained in the post that feeds the latest news widget to remain clickable in the summary beneath the image as they default to just text by default.

I am happy modifying the fp-latest-news.php.but I’m not quite good enough yet to write the code from scratch.

Can anyone assist?

Dear David,

Thank you for asking.

I thought it would be safer if we could use jQuery approach instead. Could you please try to do the following?

  1. Install and activate the Header and Footer Scripts plugin
  2. Go to Settings > Header and Footer Scripts panel
  3. Paste the following code into the “Scripts in footer:”

  1. Save settings

Let me know how it goes. I’ll wait to hear back from you regarding your stats.

Thanks for your quick answer and sorry for my late response! No luck with the solution offered. I’m not experienced with JQuery so can’t offer an explanation.

The site is www.zombiefight.co.uk if that helps.

I think it may be an issue with the definition of $excerpt?

Dear David,

Thank you for updating me.

I noticed that the jQuery code hasn’t been inserted to your site’s footer, yet. Could you please re-insert it and keep it remains there. It would help me to do direct debugging easily.

Sorry, I’m not quite sure.
