Make posts full width

#1

I have removed the sidebar in single.php as I don’t need it on blog posts. Now I need to make the rest of the post content full width.

I have tried following advice posted for similar issues on the forum, but those solutions didn’t work with Sweetheat.

Using Chrome developer tools, I’ve found something that works, but I just can’t find it in my CSS file (and adding it didn’t work). I changed the width below to 100%:

@media only screen and (min-width: 40.063em)
.medium-8 {
    width: 66.66667%;
}

Here is an example blog post on my site: http://www.ohstenmarketing.com/blog/what-should-i-blog-about/

Thanks!

Hi again,
try this css code:

@media only screen and (min-width: 64.063em)
.large-8 {
    width: 100%;
}

@media only screen and (min-width: 40.063em)
.medium-8 {
    width: 100%;
}

Hi, thanks for your reply, but I’m afraid it hasn’t made any difference. Does it matter where in the CSS file I add it?

#4

Hi, you can put the code above using custom css plugin. eg: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

#5

I had already added the code into my CSS. I just tried adding it again through the plugin, and it still made no difference. Thanks.

#6

hmm try to use !important for the code above:

@media only screen and (min-width: 64.063em)
.large-8 {
    width: 100% !important;
}

@media only screen and (min-width: 40.063em)
.medium-8 {
    width: 100% !important;
}

Hi, sorry but it’s really not working for me. Thanks.

Can you create new wp credential to your site and send it to awan.rimbawan101 at gmail? Hope I can help you further

#9

There is something missing with the code above :smiley:
