Instagram widget not showing on https

Hi,

I migrated my wordpress site form http to https.
I got everything to work except the instagram widget inside the Moeisa Pro theme.

It probably uses the http link to Instagram, so it gets blocked by the browsers.

Could you tell me what file (including path) to edit in order to add the “s”?
(I cannot upgrade the theme, I changed to much.)

Best, John

Hi John,

You can find and edit the instragram URLs in the widgets/fp-insta.php template file. Note that modifications in the core template files won’t last after theme update, you should do adjustment again after you update the theme in the future.

I know that this is something that should be permanently done in the future update. I’ll let our developer know about it. Thank you for reporting.

Kharis

Hi Kharis, thanks for your reply.

I was hoping to find a “print / echo http://…” but I cannot find any there.

Maybe you could please give me the string that needs modification?

Would help me a lot.
Thanks John.

Hello there,

Please find the following line of code:

<?php _e('To authorize the app for Instagram and get your User ID and Acces Token, ', 'moesia'); ?><a href="https://instagram.com/oauth/authorize/?client_id=467ede5a6b9b48ae8e03f4e2582aeeb3&redirect_uri=http://instafeedjs.com&response_type=token" target="_blank">go here</a>

Hi Kharis,

Thank you. I changed it but still the feed is not displayed.

Is there any way you can fix it for me?

Best,

John

In the browser the page source says:

<div id="instafeed"></div>

			</div>

			<script type="text/javascript">

				var userFeed = new Instafeed({

					get: 'user',

					userId: xxxxxxxxxx,

					accessToken: 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx',

					limit: 8,

					template: '<div class="col-md-3 col-sm-6 col-xs-6 insta-photo"><a href="{{link}}" target="_blank"><img src="{{image}}" /></a></div>',

					resolution: 'low_resolution'

				});

				userFeed.run();

			</script>

But nothing is showing. See https://www.zeefbedrukt.nl under section “ONS WERK”

Hi John,

Please follow the instructions I posted on this thread.

Yes I did that. I added the “s” in the string you mentioned, but still no Insta feed is shown.

Hello there,

Please provide your site URL here, so I can inspect it with the web browser’s inspector tool to find where the issue actually comes from.

Kharis

Hello there,

Inspecting your site, the web browser’s inspector tool is displaying the following error message:

Error: Error from Instagram: The access_token provided does not match an approved application.

Please check your token once again and make sure it is valid. Please review this instructions once again.

Regards,
Kharis

I can confirm that there is no issue with the theme’s widget code; I can successfully display your Instagram photos on my test site (localhost).

client idd

The new token cannot be generated from the Moeisa Instagram Widget.

The Client ID is copied directly from Instagram Developers.

What am I doing wrong?

Here is how you can get your correct Instagram user ID and access token using Instagram Feed plugin.
