Indent to new line in subtitle on home page

Hi!

I have written my site tagline under Appearance > Header Area > Header Slider > Subtitle for the first slide. Is it possible to use some CSS code to indent the text so it’s on two separate lines? (see screengrabs

)

Many thanks from a newbie!!

HI Cailley,

Try these steps:

  1. Install and activate the TC Custom JavaScript plugin
  2. Go To Appearance > Custom JavaScript
  3. Paste the following code into the provided box
    ;(function($) {

       'use strict'

       if( $('.header-slider .slide-item').length ){

        $('.header-slider .slide-item').each(function(){

          var slideTitle    = $(this).find('.subtitle').text();
          var newSlideTitle = slideTitle.replace('[break]', '<br />');

          $(this).find('.subtitle').html(newSlideTitle);

        });

      }

    })(jQuery);
  1. Update
  2. Edit your slide subtitle to add [break], where you want the text shifted in new line.

For example:

Adding, before checking the result, you may need to flush cache and restart your web browser.

Hi Kharis,

Thanks! I did follow your steps and it doesn’t seem to have worked. Did I do something wrong?

Hi,

Have you tried flushing the cache?

Can you share a link to your homepage to allow me checking it directly to find out what is stopping the code?

Hi Kharis,

Thanks for your reply. I have cleared the cache on the browser, I haven’t cleared the cache in Wordpress - I’m not sure how to do that could you point me towards instruction in that?

Yes, the website link is: http://henry.joshschuyler.com/
Many thanks!
