How to use child theme with upgrade to Pro version

I developed my site using a child theme of the free version of Sydney. I need to edit the footer credits so I upgraded to the Pro version. Now I need to enable the Pro features on my child theme.

I’ve searched the documentation, browsed related articles and followed instructions here but this does not enable the Pro features on my child theme. Please provide specific instructions on how to accomplish this without losing any of the customization I’ve done.

Hello there,

Edit your child theme’s style.css file. Find the line Template: near most top.

Replace the existing value with sydney-pro-ii

So the style heading would look something like this.

    /*
    Theme Name: Sydney Pro Child
    Theme URI: http://athemes.com/theme/sydney
    Author: aThemes
    Author URI: http://athemes.com
    Template: sydney-pro-ii
    Version: 1.0
    License: GNU General Public License v2 or later
    License URI: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-2.0.html
    Text Domain: sydney
    */

Ensure Sydney Pro is installed.

Then redo this steps. On 3rd step you would do folder names match – replace ** sydney-pro-ii** to your child theme’s folder name.
