How to remove "POSTED" and have author linked to main page

Hello,

I would like to change a few things regarding the format of posts, for which I would like to have your help.

  1. How can I remove “POSTED” following the post-date icon on each single page?

  2. Also for each single page, is it possible to have the author name following the author icon linked to one of the pages, for example, the top page?

Thank you in advance and best regards,

Can you share a link to a page you need help with, so I can get the exact solution to suggest?

Hi,

Sure, here is one of the posts for your reference:
https://suzuki-akiko.com/44 98/
(PLEASE delete the space between 4 and 9.)

”投稿日:” is for POSTED that I like to remove.
(Changing languages from Japanese to English in setting caused some unwanted change in the blog format, so I keep it in Japanese. )

Regards,

Hi Kharis,

I am wondering if the info I provided so far is not enough.
Let me know it you would need more info.

Hi,

Please accept my apologies for the delay in response for I was stuck in draft. I really appreciate your patience.

Try doing these steps:

  1. Install and activate the TC Custom JavaScript plugin
  2. Go To Appearance > Custom JavaScript
  3. Paste the following code into the provided box
    ;(function($) {

      if( $('.single-meta .posted-on').length ) {

    	  $(".single-meta .posted-on").each(function() {
    		  var tmp = $(this).children().remove();
    		  var text = $(this).text();
    		  text = text.replace(/投稿日:/g, "");
    		  $(this).text(text);
    		  $(this).append(tmp);
    		  $(this).find('a').attr('href', 'https://suzuki-akiko.com');
    	  });

      }

    })(jQuery);
  1. Update

Hi Kharis,

Thank you for your response with the code.

It does hide “POSTED” (or 投稿日:), which is great.
However, there is still an issue.
The code made the post date linked to the main page.

What I want is to have the author name linked to the main page.
Also, I actually do not need to have the post date linked to anywhere, so it would be nicer if you could give me codes to unlink the post date.

Could you made corrections accordingly?

Thanks again!

Hi,

Thank you for trying the code.

Try replacing it with:

    ;(function($) {

      if( $('.single-meta .posted-on').length ) {

        $(".single-meta .posted-on").each(function() {
          var tmp = $(this).children().remove();
          var text = $(this).text();
          text = text.replace(/投稿日:/g, "");
          $(this).text(text);
          $(this).append(tmp);
          $(this).find('.byline a').attr('href', 'https://suzuki-akiko.com');
        });

      }

    })(jQuery);

Hi Kharis,

Thank you for getting back to me with new codes.
With the new codes, the post date looks perfect.
However, I am afraid that the author name still is not linked to the main page.
Would you check it again, please?

Hi,

I found an error in a line of the code, and here is the correction.

    ;(function($) {

      if( $('.single-meta .posted-on').length ) {

        $(".single-meta .posted-on").each(function() {
          var tmp = $(this).children().remove();
          var text = $(this).text();
          text = text.replace(/投稿日:/g, "");
          $(this).text(text);
          $(this).append(tmp);
        });

      }

      if( $(".single-meta .byline").length ) {
        $(".single-meta .byline").each(function(){
          $(this).find('a').attr('href', 'https://suzuki-akiko.com');
        });
      }

    })(jQuery);
