How to increase the size of the "top image" (set in controlpanel) in articles

I love using large photos, but how can I increase the size of photos in top of an article (I am not using a static frontpage). I can’t find where to set another size on this photo so it can be the same as using full width for images that I put inside an article.

It is ok on the frontpage with small images that is sized to fit the columns (I have used 3 columns for my news/articles) but it do not look good when you click to read moore. The top image is smaller that images in the article - and I want the top image inn same width…

Hello there,

Please use the Unique Headers plugin to set the post’s header image. Then apply the following CSS code through the Simple Custom CSS plugin or child theme’s style.css to hide the featured image on single post page.

.single-post .entry-thumb{
  display: none;
}

I hope it helps.

Thank you for quick respons! The css code remove/hide the image from the top, but I don’t see how the Unique header works? Should only this plugin be used to set the image for the frontpage (in those 3 small coloumns) also?

If I remove the existing image (which follow standard use of articles, not pages) and use the Unique header to set the image, nothing shows up, not on the frontpage, not in “read more” page. If I use both the standard setting of image and also the plugin, it is ok again on the frontpage, but is gone on the read more (the code does that I believe). How do I get a bigger image automatically in the top of read more pages by use of the plugin?

I could solve this by manual putting the same image inside the article, on the top. Then it will appear like it is the original image from the frontpage that is displayed like this. But then, what about this plugin that should solve this?

“Requirements
You must use a theme which utilizes the built-in custom header functionality of WordPress. If your theme implement it’s own header functionality, then this plugin will not work with it.”

This explains why this plugin do not work for Sydney theme, the theme already have a function for setting a header image…?

Hello there,

Our Sydney theme supports custom header functionality. Be sure that you did the following setting:

Appearance > Customize > Header area > Header type > Site header type > select “Image”.

Hi, yeah I see what happens if I do so, but this is not what I am talking about. I do not want this image in the top (under the blue overlay) and which I now see is called the “header”.

I am talking about the main image under the header as used here: http://www.toreandre.no/wp-admin/customize.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.toreandre.no%2F2016%2F08%2F21%2Fendelig-kom-pallplassen-i-norgescupen%2F

This image comes automatically in full size at the top of this type of “standard pages” (not posts). The problem is that the image set in posts/news/articles (or what the right name is), is not full sized the same way…if you do understand what I mean. Here is what happens: http://www.toreandre.no/2016/09/29/hei-verden/

You can see that the image in the top of the post, do not use full size (I deleted the code you gave me for showing this).

Hello there,

Thank you for elaborating your objective. I just got your point. Unfortunately, it isn’t and easy task to achieve. We can’t get into code specific solution here as it reached the limitation of our support policy. Sorry. :frowning: I’d suggest you hire a freelancer on Codeable or Upwork.

Thank you for your understanding.
