How to Change Text Color in "Recent Posts" Widget, etc

I’ve been using the Alizee theme on my site - http://thehoneymoonguy.com and really like it but now that I’ve had time to really view it I’ve decided the gray text is just not as engaging as black text. I’ve changed the “Text” color in the “Customize” part of the dashboard. I was able to change the text color in a text widget by inserting an html tag.

However, I don’t see how to change the text of the widgets with auto-generated content. Examples of such widgets: Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Categories. What do I need to update to get them to show black?

I also see that the headings on each post and page are still grey even though I made the change in text color. What do I need to update to get those headings to show as black so I don’t have to go into every post and page and update them manually?

Thank you!!

Hello, you can apply custom css code below with a plugin, like simple custom css.

.widget,
.widget a {
    color: #000;
}

Thank you! That worked for the most part. There are still some sections of text in the “Recent Comments” widget that are the default grey but everything else seemed to update. Thanks again!

Ok, replace your code with this one:

.widget,
.widget a,
.widget ul li a.post-title {
    color: #000;
}

Or, add this as separate line in simple custom css:

.widget ul li a.post-title {
    color: #000;
}

You’re a good man, dimikjones, you’re a good man. That did the trick!

I saw this post. I also wanted to change the color of “Recent Post” title on the bottom part of my homepage http://thebackpackingpilot.com/

I downloaded the simple custom CSS plugin and entered the exact code

.widget,
.widget a,
.widget ul li a.post-title {
color: #000;
}

but nothing happened. Is there any modification i should do in the css code?
*this is the first time Ill be using css.

Thanks

Hello there,

Use custom css code below since you are using some other widgets:

.home .fl-widget h2.widgettitle {
    color: #ffcc00;
}

All the Best!
