How To Add Links in Footer (privacy policy, terms of use, disclaimers)

Is there a special widget that will add a link back to a page into the footer? I created a separate page for each item (privacy policy, terms of use, disclaimers) and then went to Appearances > Widgets > Footer > and added a text widget and thought I could drop the URL in here but that doesn’t work. Can you please assist? (

Hello there,

Simply create menu which will contain links to pages which you created, and then add custom menu widget to one of footer widget areas and select your newly created menu and that would be it.

Best Regards!

Hello! you make it sound so simple! It’s all greek to me. :slight_smile:
So I created the menu and special links but only the Privacy Policy will link to the page. The other two (Terms of Use and Disclaimer) show up as page not found. Can you take a look at this?

Also, is there a way to space them out across the page on the bottom of the footer, instead of underneath each other? Like this example.

Privacy Policy Terms of Use Disclaimer

thank you so much for your continued support. Diane

Hi again,

Please check if other two pages exist, and if they are, try to reset permalinks from WP admin > Settings > permalinks just hit save changes. If that does not help, please send me WP admin access to dimi[@] so I can check that on your side.

Best Regards!

Thank you so much. I checked the pages and saved the links, and they are now all working. I appreciate your help! Is there a way to have them line up across the page instead of underneath each other? Thanks again. Diane.

Hi again,

Regarding alignment of footer menu, apply custom css code below:

div#sidebar-footer {
    text-align: center;

div#sidebar-footer aside.widget.widget_nav_menu.widget ul li {
    display: inline-block;
    margin-right: 15px;

and result should look like this

You can apply the code with this plugin or if you are using WordPress 4.7 then you can add it from Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS.
