How to add breadcrumbs to Sydney theme?

Hello,

Can you please let me know how to add Breadcrumbs to wordpress site created using Sydney theme?

Thanks.

Hi,

You can use a breadcrumb using a plugin, but you will have to integrate it, please try this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/breadcrumb-navxt/

Csaba

Csaba,

Thanks for the reply.
I installed breadcumb navxt plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/breadcrumb-navxt/).

But I could find the header.php file in the editor.
In the editor I can only see the style.css file.

Please let me know how to find header.php file to edit.

Thank you.

Hi,

The header.php file you can also see in the editor, but you have to select that from the right-sidebar, because by default only style.css will show up, or if you use a Child Theme, then you will have to manually add the header.php file to your Child Theme ( there it doesn’t show up in right sidebar by default, if you don’t have that file in your Child Theme’s folder ).

Best Regards,
Csaba

Yes, I used the Child theme, and the Child Theme didn’t show up in the right-sidebar.
Can you please let me know how to manually add the header.php file?

Thanks.

Hello

I tried all this and still doesn’t work. I installed and activated the breadcrumb-navxt and I manually copied the header.php from web content/themes/sydney-pro-ii to my child theme folder web content/themes/sydney-pro-child, and yet still doesn<t work, I don t see any bdreadcrum in the header. I also tried the Yaost SEO method and that didn<t work either. This is the site https://reseauprofessionnelkabyle.com/

Hi,

Hello

I didn’t try that, and I don’t want to add another plugin, this should work without having to add another plugin.

Thx

Hi,

Breadcrumbs is actually plugin’s territory. And I can confirm it is not the scope of Sydney theme. To add breadcrumbs to your website, you should use an additional plugin. Or, you may want to customize the theme with a child theme to add your own script.

I try so many different ways, but nothing will work properly. Then I tried this way:

  • Go to your WordPress Dashboard and navigate to SEO
  • Search Appearance and then Click the Breadcrumbs tab.
  • Under the Breadcrumbs settings, make sure to enable breadcrumbs by toggling the option to “enabled”.
  • Then you can configure the breadcrumb settings according to your needs.
I tried these ways to add breadcrumbs to my site. You can also follow these steps to add breadcrumbs to Sydney theme.
