How can I hide some categories from category in blog

Hi,

I tried to hide some categories from the blog page. Because I created testimonial post and that goes to under category which is not looking good. Could you please let me know how can I hide or remove the category from there.

Hi,

Do you want to hide the category only on this post? If yes, please try this Custom CSS:

.postid-118 .hentry .meta-post .cat-links {
    display: none !important;
}

if you want to hide the category from below each post, please use this Custom CSS:

.single-post .hentry .meta-post .cat-links {
    display: none !important;
}

Add the above CSS to your Child Theme’s style.css or in case you haven’t setup a Child Theme already, then you can also use this plugin to add the CSS to it: https://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/ so you will not loose the changes on theme updates.

Please let me know how it works.

Csaba

Hello,

I use Child Theme. so I tried both css code there and I do not see any result.

Let me clear you one more thing. If you go to this link.

This is a testimonial page. Who posted this (admin) Posted in Kevin. Posted on October 29, 2015. I want to hide these info.

Second, If you look to the CATEGORIES. all categories are here from testimonial page with name, such as Erik Schwan, Kevin, Melissa Jenski, Steve, Rauno Johansson Schneider Dennis. I do not want to show these categories in my blog post. How can I do it?

Because this doesn’t seems good to show in blog categories for testimonial page.

Hi,

Ok, Sorry, I thought you want to hide only the categories, the CSS I gave you have worked for single-post and removed only the category, not the whole meta, as you clarified now, I understand your issue better, so you can use this Custom CSS to hide the whole meta and the Categories Widget on testimonial pages with this Custom CSS:

.single-testimonials .meta-post {
    display: none !important;
}

.single-testimonials #categories-2 {
    display: none !important;
}

In case you want to hide the whole meta on blog posts too, then use this Custom CSS for that:

.single .meta-post {
    display: none !important;
}

So this will remove the meta on blog posts, not only on testimonials page, the first one ( with .single-testimonials in front will affect only testimonial pages ).

Please let me know how it works.

Csaba
