Horizontal auto scrolling of Employees

Hello
First of all thank you for this awesome theme. I remember in the beginning the employees part was auto scrolling, but now it is static and it is not scrolling automatically. Can you tell me how to fix it please?

With best regards

Hello there,

Sorry to hear the issue you are having.

Could you confirm if your site is JS error free? You could check it through the browser’s console. Please refer here https://developer.chrome.com/devtools/docs/console

If you found an error, it might be caused by other plugin’s script. Please try to temporarily deactivate the all non-required plugins (if any). You would need to clear all cache before reloading your site.

Kharis

Thank you for quick respond.
There are some errors:

Hello there,

Thank you for reporting. Could you please try to temporarily deactivate the all non-required plugins one by one until you get the employee widget working again?

Let me know how it goes.

Kharis

Hello
I have only few plugins and I tried to deactivated them but still it didn’t help.

Hello there,

Thank you for updating me.

Could you please post your URL here so I can have a closer look?

Hello there,

I can confirm that the employee widget isn’t automatically scrolling by default.

To make it auto scrolling, try to do the following:

  1. Open the js/main.js in your code editor, then copy the whole content of it; then paste it into js/main.min.js. So it will be more readable
  2. Find the following lines:

var teamCarousel = function(){
	if ( $().owlCarousel ) {
		$(".panel-grid-cell .roll-team").owlCarousel({
			navigation : false,
			pagination: true,
			responsive: true,
			items: 3,
			itemsDesktopSmall: [1400,3],
			itemsTablet:[970,2],
			itemsTabletSmall: [600,1],
			itemsMobile: [360,1],
			touchDrag: true,
			mouseDrag: true,
			autoHeight: false,
			autoPlay: false,
		}); // end owlCarousel
	} // end if
};

change autoPlay: false, to autoPlay: true,

  1. Save changes, then update via FTP or cPanel

As you are editing the core theme’s file, you should take it at your own risk. You will loose the changes once the theme gets updated in the future.

Hello
Thx very much.

What do I do to get this js file to work from my child theme so it’s not overwritten in any updates? I have copied the mailman.js into a js folder in my child theme - do I need to include it somehow?

Dear Edward,

Please follow the short tutorial I posted here. I hope that helps.

Kharis

Hey @kharisblank

I followed up your tutorial mentioned here but I couldn’t understand it properly.

After adding the below function to Sydney child theme: > function sydney_child_dequeue_script() {

wp_dequeue_script(‘sydney-main’);
}
add_action( ‘wp_print_scripts’, ‘sydney_child_dequeue_script’, 100 );

I added the below line with Custom Css and JS plugin > add_action( ‘wp_enqueue_scripts’, ‘sydney_child_enqueue’ );

function sydney_child_enqueue() {

wp_enqueue_script( 'sydney-main-child', get_stylesheet_directory_uri() . '/js/sydney-main-child.js', array('jquery'),'', true );

}

Now, where should I add the below code now?

var teamCarousel = function(){
if ( $().owlCarousel ) {
$(".panel-grid-cell .roll-team").owlCarousel({
navigation : false,
pagination: true,
responsive: true,
items: 3,
itemsDesktopSmall: [1400,3],
itemsTablet:[970,2],
itemsTabletSmall: [600,1],
itemsMobile: [360,1],
touchDrag: true,
mouseDrag: true,
autoHeight: false,
autoPlay: false,
}); // end owlCarousel
} // end if
};

I hope you’re getting my point.

Thanks,
Shadab

Hello Shadab,

Instead of reproducing the script with child theme, try this simplest solution. Then adjust the lines you’d like to edit.

Hi @kharisblank

Working like charm. Thank you for the help. Keep up the good work :+1:

Shadab
