Highlight menu item of displayed page

Good evening everybody,

I’ve search in the forum for this answer but was not able to find anything.
I would like to know if it’s possible to highlight an item in the menu depending on the page displayed.

For example, I have the following menu: Home, about, contact.
When I click on About, I would like the item in the menu highlighted (so that the visitor will always know where he is)

Thank you in advance for your help.
Enjoy your day.

Lydia

Hi,

Please post a link to your website, so I can check.

Kind Regards,
Csaba

Hi Csaba,

You won’t be able to see ‘anything’ on the website as i’m trying to add
this feature.
Actually, the website uses the menu provided by default by Sydney’s theme.

What I would like to do is for example highlight the item Restoration when
the page is displayez, About when about is displayed and so on…

Thank you for your help.

Hi,

You can highlight the current page’s menu item with this Custom CSS:

.current_page_item a {
    color: red !important;
}

Please add the above CSS to your Child Theme’s style.css or in case you haven’t setup a Child Theme already, then you can also add the CSS to wp-admin -> Appearance -> Customizer -> Additional CSS so you won’t loose the changes after Theme or WordPress updates.

Please let me know how it works.

Kind Regards,
Csaba

Morning Csaba,

Thank you so much for your email, it works perfectly.
Have a nice day.
