Hiding Latest News ticker

I am trying to use my GreatMag-Pro theme for a general website, because I have found it very configurable.

But I would like to remove the Latest News at the top of the home page.

Not being an expert on CSS, I managed to hide it by adding some custom CSS thus:

    .breaking-news{
       display: none;
    }

Is this how it should be hidden/removed? I am not sure if I am simply hiding it, or I am telling the theme to not generate it. Or should I use different css.

John.

Hello John,

You could use this CSS code:

.breaking-news.media {
  display: none;
}

Add it to Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS from dashboard.

If it doesn’t change anything. Check if site caching enabled and you’d need to clear it. Because it blocks new code additions or changes to take effect in the frontend.

Hello Kharis

I tried that and it works well. Many thanks.

The original css I usedf came from a Sydney theme post I saw here, and I adapted it.
I need to study up some more on just how css classes work <:slight_smile:

Hello Rahul,

Try adding this code to your site’s Additional CSS:

    @media only screen and (max-width: 767px) {
      .breaking-news.media {
        display: none;
      }
    }
