Hide menu at frontpage

Hi there

I use Sydney Pro with one header slider. I have the following idea and do not know how to realise: If you go to the Homepage, the Header slider should appear without title and menue. The idea is, that the Slider fills the whole screen. When you scroll down (to the text which comes below the slider), then the menue and the title should appear. Is that possible?

Kind regards

Simon

Hello Simon,

If I get your objective correctly, you’ll need to add the below CSS code into Appearance > Customize > Additional CSS in your site dashboard.

.home .site-header:not(.float-header) {
  display: none;
}

Hi Kharis

Many thanks! That is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunateley the menue is now also hidden, when you visit the Homepage with a mobile. Is it possible to programm, that the menue is only hidden for desktop-users and not for mobile-users?

Kind regards

Simon

Hi Simon,

Yes, it’s possible to do. The code should be wrapped in a media query. Replace the code I suggested with this one:

@media only screen and (min-width:1025px) {

  .home .site-header:not(.float-header) {
    display: none;
  }

}
