Header overlay - Sydney

Hi, I have uploaded my own header image but
it looks like there is a darkened overlay that masks the colors of my
image. How do I change that?

I have tried installing simple custom css plugin…no use

my site is kiaraskitchem.com

I see you switched to a different theme. Anyway, here’s the code in case anybody else needs it:

.header-image .overlay {
    background-color: transparent !important;

I have been playing around. I will try Sydney again with the code. Just add it to simple custom Css?
Thank you

I have switched back to Sydney and added the code you gave me to no avail. Please help. I really want to use Sydney!

Sorry, I had a typo. Copy the code again from my previous post please.

thank you. it worked!

Hi is there anyway to add a widget area to the header? Like to the right of the navigation menu? I found this overlay topic to be incredibly helpful. I love the theme just need some little tweeks

No, an extra widget area there will require a lot of re-coding. It’s hardly a little tweak :slight_smile:

Thanks for the response vlad. I was hoping to add a welcome banner. I thought I could achieve that with a plugin, but if it is too complicated I understand.

Vlad could you tell me what coding I should use to have the page end of the footer? I was using this:
@media (min-width: 1200px) {
html, body {
height: 100%;
html body.wide #wrapper.container {
min-height: 100%;
position: relative;
padding-bottom: 128px !important;
#containerfooter {
position: absolute;
bottom: 0;
left: 0;
width: 100%;
but I still see the background.
