Handling layout of text in Sydney theme

There are a few things I’d like to figure out how to do for my website, which uses the Sydney theme. I’m not much of a techy, and am new to wordpress, but I know how to paste in custom CSS, and have used some on my site already (copy-pasted from existing threads).

I would like to find out how to:

  • make the left-hand end of my site title line up with the left-hand end of the main body of text on a page. At the moment the text is slightly further indented than the title, and I find this a bit messy.

  • alter the width of the page used by the main body of text (e.g. so that it only comes, say, 40% of the way across the screen before going onto the next line).

  • hide the page title (on just one specific page, not all pages)

  • create more space between the very top of the page and the site title

  • ideally, I’d like the site title to disappear at the top of the screen when I scroll down, rather than remain stuck to the top, but this isn’t essential, and I can live with it…

Many thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide!
